Community relief: Help Eddie and Shari Floyd Recover

Eddie and Shari Floyd — beloved seniors and cherished members of the 93.7 FM Northern Nevada's Voice KNNR/KPGF family — are facing an unimaginable tragedy after the recent fires north of Reno.

Their neighbors woke them and urged them to leave immediately as flames threatened their ranch. Eddie and Shari fled in separate vehicles, but when they turned back to get medication, they were overtaken by smoke and fire. They were left stranded outside the vehicle until they could reach 911. Both suffered extensive burns and were rushed for emergency care before being airlifted to the UC Davis burn center, where they remain in critical condition.

The road ahead will be long, painful, and incredibly difficult as they begin the hard work of healing. In addition to the physical trauma, their home was burned, and the full extent of their loss is still unfolding. Donations will help with medical bills, ongoing recovery, and rebuilding after the fire.

Most of all, Eddie and Shari will need the strength, prayers, and support of their community in the days ahead. Please keep them in your prayers, and if you are able, consider giving to support their healing.

Fundraiser goal $10,000 · organized by Thad Barnes (Reno, NV) on GoFundMe.
